I'll always remember the fine hospitality extended to me for the NY & CH gig in Glasgow in 2001.

Hopefully someday we'll do it again.

The first time I saw Neil was June 24, 1976 (Pine Knob Music Theater, Clarkston Michigan, USA), I've seen him 14 times since then the latest being June 22, 2003 (DTE Energy Music Theater-formerly-Pine Knob Music Theater, Clarkston Michigan, USA). Attached is a picture of me taken in 1976, I'm raising a glass of "scottish ale", wearing my "clan Beattie tartan".

I've been to Scotland a number of times and have a real liking for Mortlach 25 year old. Does this count ? Can I join ?  ("Mortlach" ...... that's a fine malt whisky ..... ed.)

Back in 1986 a group of friends (one of Scottish heritage) and I went up to Mull to spend a week in a crofter’s cottage near Bunessan. Having spent the evening at a Deep Purple concert (wearing my new leather walking boots to try to break them in) I caught the midnight train with them up to Glasgow. We spent an enjoyable 2 hours avoiding drunks at Glasgow station from 6.00am waiting for a train to Oban and then a much better 4 hours in a pub in Oban waiting for a ferry across to Craignure. We duly got the ferry only to find that there was no bus on the other side on a Sunday and we had to walk the 20+ miles across the island carrying large packs in temperatures that were rapidly heading towards freezing. Did I mention it was January? Luckily an open pickup stopped to give us a lift and, after a detour to pick up the driver’s wife who had been scuba diving in a lake, we were delivered to the pub in Bunessan. Great we thought, a whiskey, a warm fire and a warm welcome  well the first 2 anyway. After thawing out from the journey we hiked the 4 miles in the dark to the cottage  arriving at 1.00am Had a great holiday but we never let the same guy do the planning again

Founder of Hiheidyin enterprises, current NYAS editor and all round Neil Young fanatic since 1971 purchase of After The Goldrush. I was fascinated by the lyric insert that came with the album and in particular the list of songs on the last page of the notebook. What were these ? I wondered and why aren't they on this album? I've been hooked ever since and am especially interested in Neil's unreleased songs.

Followed the man from hearing the Loner in Strawberry Statement way back. Reckon there's something good in these gutters if Neil can still turn in a beaut like Greendale after 30 + years. Originate from Kinlochleven - hence the handle.

Ken.

Been a Neil fan since the early 70's the older he gets the better he gets.

Just like a good Malt Whiskey. Even Tricia " Better Half " is starting to like his music.

 Willie Blair                                          Irvine                                                   Scotland

Scot Fraser                                       Vancouver                                             Canada

Been crazy aboot Neil since I was a wee kid. I went  o'er tae Scotland in 1978  tae watch some footie, World Cup featuring Scotland. Ally McLeod was the coach and the boys didnae do so well. Everybody was singing the Stones tune Hae yoo git off a McLeod. That's true. It's also true that I had tae buy a vinyl copy o'  Harvest in a record shop in Glasgow and play that o'er and o'er again on ma Auntie's hi-fi set cause I didnae like her Neil  Diamond crap. Sure was guid quality on that grand Scottish hi-fi. Scots invented a lot of things I found oot including radio by some bloke called MacEroney. So no wonder the hi-fi was grand soundin'. This is a picture of me dressed in full Fraser tartan regalia , cheap bloody Canadian's  canna afford a kilt so I had tae go with a sash and hide tha legs. I used tae have tha Mod Squad look afro back then. That's  what happens tae guid Scottish hair if ya lit it grow all long like. Till it all bloody falls oot. Then ye wear a tam. Greetings to all Scottish Rusties frae Vancouver. Lang may ye'r lum reek. Och aye.

 Dave Armstrong                           Norwich                                   England

I spent a while working in Arran in summer 76 testing telephone cables. Fond memories of sitting on Brodick beach past closing time drinking our kerryoots. Bars closed at 10pm then and it was still daylight. AWorked in Skye the following year. Was only a 50 yard crawl from Broadford Bar to my caravan Never got lost once Did I mention I met the wife in Skye I'm in  and if your phone's never worked properly in Arran since 76 don't blame me.
